Global warming theory is based around warming of the troposphere. I am not aware of any mechanism by which scientists have claimed CO2 heats the oceans, and much of the sea surface is well below normal temperature. https://www.ospo.noaa.gov/data/sst/anomaly/2019/anomnight.2.11.2019.gif …pic.twitter.com/3OI4GT0RIM

      Warm air doesn't warm water?

Ocean heat content is controlled almost entirely by the amount of solar energy penetrating the surface of the water, and thus is controlled by cloudiness, The tiny change in troposphere temperatures has very little effect on the heat content of the ocean. http://www.drroyspencer.com/latest-global-temperatures/ …pic.twitter.com/ILW5HmESrc

Is 2 degrees in twenty years, for example, a "very little effect"?

Then you are arguing air can warm oceans to the point of bleaching coral, for example.

A lot of bleaching of reefs occurs when sea levels drop during ENSO events, and the corals are subject to excess UV and heat. Plus, bleaching is an evolutionary adaptation. It expels one symbiont, to take in another with better heat resistance. Last, coral growth rate > w/temp

You're claiming sea levels are dropping where there is coral?

There are sea levels drops in the western pacific during ENSO events. Think of it as the water being blow to the other side of the pond. Slightly higher SL on east side, slightly lower on west.

Technically, sea levels are dropping at most coral islands, as island GROWTH is the norm, over the last few decades. Darwin theorized this nearly 200 years ago.

Then we would see lower sea levels where we see bleaching. I'm guessing someone would have noticed.
