Both sides say the other's point is fraudulent, and do so with great persuasiveness. If you are only seeing the critics without the debunking of the critics, you are not participating.

If warmer air from increased CO2 levels caused warmer oceans, we'd expect to see a proportional increase in hurricane activity, but there has been no increase in hurricane activity since CO2 levels have been rising beginning around the late 1950s.pic.twitter.com/KwW8vixW5H

Unless land warmed in proportion?

More sunshine warms the oceans. And sunshine is cyclic. And some coutnries make it easy to find data on sunshine.pic.twitter.com/MAQtUuiQSI

Sea surface temperatures are largely controlled by cloudiness. A few cloudy days, and the water can drop several degrees. You also get upwelling effects from the deep oceans, like occurs along the South American coast during a La Nina - when the water gets very cold.

Get a few major volcano eruptions and it will get damn cold.

So funny no one ever talks about geothermal influences on ocean temps and sea ice...https://blog.friendsofscience.org/2018/12/31/geothermal-heat-effects-on-oceans-and-arctic-sea-ice-variability/ … Heat rises. Yes?

So why are we worrying about ocean temperatures rising if all that is happening is ice is melting into it? Your explanation doesn't work.
