I think there's a tide in favor of pro-climate/science policies over time, both age demographic related and piling up of impact evidence. But resentment culture is strong; lots of GOP voters too distrusting of "elites" which includes scientists. As a smart libertarian put it:pic.twitter.com/mqjFF9DvWj

What would the probability be to change my mind back from AGW to skeptic again? Sort of like putting toothpaste back in the tube.

So you aren't open to challenging your own presuppositions then? Sounds like a highly conservative mindset.

That is because AGW and anti-AGW are really not equivalent. The arguments for AGW are vastly more persuasive and obvious. Similar to evolution vs. anti-evolution. Or tectonic plates vs. anti-tectonic plates. I was mistaken the first time.

I don't agree. Check out this 2018 climate debate with @MichaelEMann @dwtitley @curryja @EcoSenseNow I found only Judith Curry convincing. She offers a compromise of a "no regrets" energy policy, where it's beneficial even if models overestimate warming https://youtu.be/pVXHaSqpsVg

Do you mean "convincing" in the sense of saying things in line with your political views? Or in sense of verifiable evidence. Her hypotheses haven't survived conventional scientific tests (or if they have, what evidence supports stadium wave, natural causes of warming?)

If you like debate, here's Curry vs. NASA's climate director. Typically accuses colleagues of vague misconduct in lieu of scientific critique, runs when challenged. Don't miss the legendary response in comment #185.http://www.realclimate.org/index.php/archives/2010/07/the-montford-delusion/comment-page-4/#comment-181895 …

I respect Dr. Curry, she sometimes discourages Heller-type adjustment conspiracy theories as well as open contrarian pseudo-science

So we have to find air-tight arguments indicating that the transition costs will, in the long run, be worth it over the potential AGW physical costs. I don't have a handle on that. I see statistics but haven't traced the research on that yet. I must see the math.

Not possible. You'd have to know the unknowable, specifically in terms of new tech for scrubbing the atmosphere, fusion breakthroughs in 20 years, indoor farming, battery tech, coral re-seeding, etc.

Carbon Dividends are not 'punitive' actions, they are persuasive devices meant to steer people and industries away from polluting, CO2 emitting technologies. CO2 emissions have huge costs and that must be captured by the transition policies. I will post more on this later.

Hmm... “knowing the unknowable”. Kind of like “knowing” that an infant will inevitably die after birth and then murdering it?
