The non scientists cannot fathom how the real world of science works. It isn't a conspiracy, it is incompetence. In my experience, most scientists are incompetent, very few are gifted.

And what would that look like, exactly? The person, whomever it may be, would be smeared in the press from day 1, & have ZERO backup from anyone. The only close to fair coverage they would receive would MAYBE be from Fox? i.e. they would be dismissed as a goon for Exxon.
