“Men don’t get to have an opinion on abortion” is such an insidious trope because it trains men to suppress the urge to protect the weak from harm, which is the least toxic form of masculinity.

He didn't say that. He's pointing out that women are (physically and emotionally) more invested. But, I think that can be proved, or disproved, by votes. If women care enough, they'll outvote whatever men's preference might be.
