People with law degrees: "Pelosi defeated Trump!" People with engineering degrees: "Border security is about to get a lot stronger." People with economics degrees: "Compared to what Clinton would have done as president, the border will be far more secure."

I have an engineering degree and that's not what I'm saying. Bad mind reading.

You think the eventual outcome will be less border security or no change?

I don't believe there's enough data to draw a conclusion

You're ducking the question. None of us can predict the future with certainty. But odds are strong for improved border security at the end of this road.

I agree it's more likely than not that it will increase. But that's not what you said. And "a lot?" I don't think that's a certainty at all.

I agree with your point. However remember that engineers are also well aware that solutions to complex problems have tradeoffs.

700 miles of walls since 2006 has had practically no effect. This time is no different.

The question is. Could we have had improved border security without shutting down our government and losing billions. The answer is yes. Would Hillary have done more than lose $6B and passed zero legislation? Yes. Could she have done it without putting kids in cages? Yes.

It seems everyone including CNN understands there will be a wall, its ingrained by now, the democrats just wanted to make a point by going at Trump, that won't help them at all and already hurt them.
