I consider myself an "informed layman" having been following the development of the debate since the early 80s when I worked in Antarctica, and so I can follow though I don't pretend to know, and can only drill down so far. I'm ever more convinced that it is very complex.
-
Bingo From there it's a small step to understand 'scientists' declaring a theory proven based on a tree ring or a glacier's thickness don't have the answer. The issue is too complex and anyone telling you they have it figured out is lying.

I worked in weather for many years, and knew it was all BS, even before finding out that temp data was fudged. Science isn’t what it once was.

Honestly, I like your focus on persuasion information and analysis. The “climate debate” stuff on the podcasts holds no interest for me personally. Just my opinion. Keep up the great work.

This whole argument is fascinating, I grant you, however, there's another big, gigantic issue waiting off-stage. Just because a bunch of scientists determine, right or wrong, that man is causing the climate to change, doesn't mean their solutions are good ones. That's political.

My two engineering degrees say yes, I can. Apparently engineering isn't usually included in science acoording to climate 'scientists'. ;-)

Because engineers have a more stringent attitude toward the work. If you are wrong, the plane crashes or the reactor vessel explodes, so you have to be able to prove you're right on paper AND in the real world. If you're wrong, it's obvious from the smoke.
