Scott, as part of your climate research, may I recommend this IQ2 debate on if global warming is a crisis?

We have the advantage for only one reason: Literally every dire prediction made by climate alarmists is proving to be incorrect, even a rise in temperature. To paraphrase Feynman, if your theory doesn't match observations, you're wrong.

AGW advocates rely heavily on the “consensus” of experts, which creates two problems: 1) The failure of models to accurately predict temperatures undermines that expertise, and 2) Consensus is politics, not science.

The models can reliably predict trends and direction. But beyond that in a chaotic system, not so much.

Perhaps since every and all claims to "consensus" are simply argument from authority - and the alarmists have nothing else of substance to offer for their case.

agency risk. usually, the skeptics have a day job. the believers depend on their being right for their livelihood. that makes them inherently less credible. Also, they are not open to any answer to the problem alternative to what they want and say. Nukes are out of bounds.

But the climate alarmist scientists have the numerical advantage, since an incresing number of them were indoctrinated into the Global Warming religion at a young age by watching the Al Gore film. They're counting angels on the head of a pin!

add in the fact that climate change has an almost religious fervor behind it. The smallest questions get you branded a blasphemer. Its religion for atheists
-
Speaking of that, I heard a preacher say, long ago, that his problem with atheists wasn't their non belief in God, their morals, or behavior. It was their non-belief that evil exists. So, they trust, that there are no hidden agendas adverse to their community.
