Inadvertently, I’ve discovered that some of my followers believe there is no “Open Borders” movement. They believe no one has proposed Open Borders. I just don’t know what to make of this. Does the WSJ not exist?? Do search engines live in my imagination?? Anyone? A little help.

I'm a skeptic that open borders people exist in numbers beyond the flat earthers. I suspect people have their own definitions of what it means.

Hi Scott, I’m lost. I see no parallel with flat earthers. My standard reply to laundry list persuasion is the same. What is your one strongest link/article supporting your point? If it looks solid, I accept your position.

Laundry list persuasion? Hadn’t heard that one. You may want to rethink the boundaries of your “persuasion” argument. My standard reply to someone making a falsifiable claim is to civilly falsify it. So we may be at an impasse here. Something is way off on this one. Be well.

If the argument that one makes is “there are no open border apologists” then a subsequent list of publications filled with apology would therefore falsify the original claim. Whether weak or not apologists exist.

It only takes one point to falsify a claim this simple. The WSJ article simply shows we have different definitions of open borders. I certainly agree that plenty of folks want more efficient employment across borders. So does Trump.

I agree with you that it only takes one true example to falsify. I think, however, that the broader point is that not only is there such a thing as open borders advocates but that its advocacy is prolific. Al least prolific enough to be blatant.

I thought the 'Laundry List' fallacy was when people throw a wide range of tidbits to build their case, where individually they're weak. Eric's list seems to be a list of similar things, many publications who are either in support of open borders or reporting on people who are

If someone doesn't support a proper physical barrier on the southern border they support open borders. No amount of drones, electronic surveillance, or overly spread thin man power can properly protect a 1000+ miles of open land. We need a physical barrier plus other things.

@ScottAdamsSays, the WSJ article specifies full, free, uninhibited migration of people across the US-Mexico border without any immigration limits. That's the common definition of "open borders". Trump doesn't support anything close to that. You are being absurd.

Is it my imagination or are the open borders people not that far from Trump's plan of blocking the criminals and letting in the people we need for jobs in this country?
