Do we need to debate the theory of gravity, the heliocentric theory or that the earth is not flat? Of course, not. It is just a waste of time, same with climate change. The only ones who want to debate it are climate deniers, who won't believe any of the real science anyways.

Yup. You have even mentioned how big claims have been debunked, food pyramids, etc. Also, this morning, you asserted that anyone receiving money for their research should be viewed with skepticism.

Also, experience has shown me that when anyone says, you're evil, stop what you're doing and spend money the way I say, is usually running a scam. I can be convinced but I have extreme skepticism.

I’m constantly surprised with Scott’s appeal to the expert. Scott if you had spent any time in academia you would better understand that group think does exist there. Their jobs are on the line to toe-the-line... they are mostly being persuaded to watch the same screen.

There are only small handful of scientists who work with radiative transfer and understand how it works. The "thousands of top scientists" claim is based on a combination of propaganda and group think, as Judith Curry described. I suggest you talk to her.

recently i watched this interview dated 2013 with an investigative Canadian journalist regarding the practices of the IPCC. For me at least it was an eye-opener https://youtu.be/U5weFQYBL5w
