I do not get why you dismiss prehistorical evidence. No scientist would do that. Without the fossil record, the theory of evolution would not exist. We also have to look at the "fossil record" of climate evidence. Should not ignore it.

We should include it when it's relevant and exclude it when it isn't. If we can't make the case for climate change using the last 100 years of data, going back further won't convince me. I assume lots of variables were different a million years ago.

Makes sense if the past is roughly as knowable as the present. It isn't. But I agree it can give us clues for things to check in the present.
