By the way, it is easy to demonstrate that CO2 does not raise the temperature by virtue of its absorption of heat. A colder fluid (air at altitude) cannot heat a warmer surface.

It means that you got the logarithmic response backwards, after a certain amount, increasing CO2 has less and less effect on temperature. There just isn't the infrared energy in the specific band to be absorbed. CO2 is saturated.
