Well if this is indeed a business-as usual scenario, then it demonstrates from insurance companies, investors, builders, and residents they are willing and will continue to do business in ‘high risk’ areas, hence they don’t believe in climate change either based on their actions.https://twitter.com/ScottAdamsSays/status/1081559783000367104 …

False. They would require flood/wind insurance and only make loans to people who could pay off the mortgage no matter what happened to the property. (Rich people.) And insurance renews annually. No big risk for them either. They can bail out as soon as the going gets bad.

100% wrong. I just told you insurance companies and banks make money either way. And the rich don't much care if they have to someday sell the beach house.

Remember insurance in flood zones is often underwritten by the government precisely because private insurers would have to charge unaffordable rates.

Although it strengthens the case that humans are adaptable--and therefore the risks are low. If the water rises we will move inland, if it gets hotter we move north. Wait, I forgot what the problem was?

What year will the rich stop buying oceanfront properties because the remaining life is too short?

Are there infrastructure projects being built in areas that would be damaged by GW? Infra is often modeled with long time horizons in mind.

Insurance companies and banks are not people, i have worked for both as a data analyst; they don't make conscious decisions. Decisions are made from studying the past and extrapolating forward. I was never asked to add weather forecasts to my predictions.
