Two years isn’t enough for sea level rise to have done that. You said erosion and you’re surely right. Sand has simply been washed away. Perhaps the building itself promotes erosion (it’s too close to the water) by preventing the full wave cycle which would restore some sand.

I am finding that one very hard to believe, Scott. You mentioned it was due to warmer areas versus colder areas. Considering the amount of flux that the moon causes with tides, how fast should any rise in one area not reach equilibrium throughout? It isn't logical.
