My interpretation of this article: Scientists have no reliable temperature data history and thus there is no way to know whether or not the planet is warming. Am I wrong?https://twitter.com/JSegor/status/1080471267982008321 …

Only Tamino's critique of Heller and he was being a bit flippant. Zeke refers to Tamino in the above link. I think the gist of Tamino criticism was cherry picking. If the whole counterclaim is about algorithms we probably have to understand the code or defer to experts.

I defer to experts when I drive under overpasses. And I get recommendations to doctor if I need a procedure done. But I am not going to question his expertise if he has a good reputation. Heller has a spotty reputation even to fellow skeptics (see Judith Curry piece).

Four out of the five top comic industry experts said Dilbert had no commercial potential. Five out of six doctors and specialists told me my voice problem was incurable. And every expert was wrong on nutrition for decades.

Gridded = The US is sliced and diced into same sized grids. Measuring average temperature as a mean of all stations vs measuring average temperatures as a mean of US grids could have different results. Seems that explains a lot of the differences

Here is one in English. Turns out the US is 0.04% of all global warming. Probably explains the coral bleaching. But the "skeptics" will drone on about this one while real scientists find solutions to the coral reef problem.https://www.theguardian.com/environment/climate-consensus-97-per-cent/2014/jun/25/global-warming-zombies-devour-telegraph-fox-news-brains?CMP=share_btn_tw …

Here’s a summary of what
@SteveSGoddard misses from his avg temperature calculations: 1. ANOMALIES (rather than absolute calculations), to compare each station to its local norm. 2. SPACIAL WEIGHTING, to compensate for weather stations not being evenly spread across the world.pic.twitter.com/D7hSrBNXy5
