Where are the "dire" predictions of what happens to the GDP if we pursue uneconomical green solutions at full speed? What impact on GDP? How many dead compared to some climate warming? More or fewer? I have no idea.https://twitter.com/PeterZeihan/status/989868124525809664 …

It need not be dire. Even as GDP increased, CO2 emissions declined. See State of the Carbon Cylcle report just out. https://bit.ly/2S0AQRL pic.twitter.com/RTQr4lYf6V

That's the "do nothing" scenario, and indeed it is not dire. But climate scientists present "worst case" scenarios for climate, which is fair. Where is my worst case scenario for going green too aggressively?

50/50 chance we go into "cooling phase": any plans for that scenario? #CO2NotKlimateKontrolKnob

Even if were to enter cooling phase (unlikely as that is), should still reduce CO2 emissions. With continued CO2 emissions, more CO2 enters ocean & due to chemistry, pH declines (more acidic). This bad for ocean life, seafood (inc. lobster & shellfish!) & other ocean processes.

The goal is to greatly reduce human population, or even extinct us, so there is no such thing as "too aggressively".

I agree, we should invest a lot more in renewables research, as suggested in the attachment, to make them even greener!

My prediction: Massive starvation from decreased means of production. global population shift from rural to urban. Cities that exist in "green energy" poor areas abandoned due to zero sustainability without fossil fuels. Disease increases 10 fold from overpopulation in cities.

So lets design a system that doesn't end up like that. As humans, we can plan our own future, that minimizes environmental impact. We can do it, & so do most people who want to reduce GHG emissions. No one wants what you are imagining. Lets figure it out. We need to eventually.
