Prediction: This year we reached peak climate change alarm. Expect growing skepticism from this point on. (Except during random disasters.)

Have you concluded climate change or man’s influence on it is a hoax? Or are you just sceptical?

What’s this? History? Analogies? Almost as though nobody ever heard of black swans. I was genuinely interested in Scott’s view. A few months back, he declared himself sceptical but ready to be persuaded by decent science. Is that still the case?

His view, as I understand it, is that climate change is real, but the economic projections for its effects are unreliable, and that since it is a slow moving disaster, technology will likely provide way better solutions tomorrow than panicking about it today.

Iirc for the models he points to, for example, arable land no longer useable because of climate change. While some farms cant produce their same products, other lands have now become arable that were barren before...

... and those farms initially hurt by climate change are finding other crops that do work in the different temperature, adapting to the change. Projection models are incapable of accounting for these types of things, its too complex to rely on them.

As for tech, he points to his own solar panels he bought a decade ago. He did the math and if he had waited 10 yrs he would have been able to buy far superior solar panels that are way cheaper to buy and way more effective, being the smarter move on all counts in the long run

All in all, ive never heard him deny climate change. He is merely reasonably skeptical of the alarmism shouted about, due to the unreliability of the models founding that alarm, and the ability of mankind to solve slow moving disasters if given enough of a head start.

Few doubt climates change or that CO2 is a variable in it. And now that science agrees with me the impact is minor over 80 years, I am in agreement with scientists.
