I only see one a flaw in that hypothesis, to run a simulation you need processing power (at least in this "reality" we do), a simulation can't provide more processing power than what it was given by the it's creator.

but what I meant to say is that a simulation can't be more complex than the reality that created it, you can't make a game more complex than reality, a simulation can't contain more information than reality itself, at least in our world and from what we know about reality so far.
