it is hard to model because it's a chaotic system, but that doesn't mean that there aren't patterns that you can find in it such as: if there's clouds in the sky it's likely to rain. you can also say that what powers the climate is differences in temperature.

bigger difference in temperature= more powerful transfers of energy in the atmosphere, that's basically Carnot's theorem that is well established for almost 200 years now, it's meant for heat engines (engineering) but it applies to the climate aswell.
