Hypothesis: People who read the most fiction are primed to assign meaning to anecdotal evidence because fiction treats every observation as meaningful. Reality is nearly the opposite.pic.twitter.com/06arkEcG4Q

Not true. Fiction readers use fictional stories to better understand human nature. They develop more creative minds. Besides we all have heard the expressions “you can’t make this stuff up” and “truth is stranger than fiction”.
I didn’t hypothesize no benefits of reading fiction.
The one-variable thinkers are always a problem.
The prob. with Scott hypothesis is that Fiction is too broad a term. The is a vast difference between writers that use fiction to introduce concepts about humanity and science, like Clark, Orwell, and Asimov and entertainment fiction writers like Rowling, Myers, and Steele.
I'm not disagreeing, I'm narrowing it down. Some fiction is written to be thought provoking, like Asimov's robot series, and other fiction is written to be emotion provoking, like Myers twilight series. It's the difference between thinking about the world and believing in magic.
Sometimes I laugh out loud when I watch you slice and dice bad thinking here.
Thanks, Joe. I enjoy engaging with you too.
