I can prove both I read fiction and worked as an engineer making the evidence I provided, although personal, empirical and verifiable.
That’s anecdotal. The point is that the hypothesis, if true, would have exceptions. From 1 data point (I.e. your experience), we can’t know if you are disproving the rule or are an exception. You’d need a study with a sample size way bigger than 1 to prove/disprove the hypothesis
