Would it be worse than our nuclear war with Pakistan after we invaded their country to kill Bin Laden?

Pakistan's not China. Pakistan gets massive US funds in aid and the US could destroy its economy in a week. However, the US is in debt to China to the tune of $1.17 Trillion. China wouldn't want war over drug dealers but an attack would force it to save face

And you do realize in the event of war we would selectively default on every penny of that $1+ trillion you mentioned. Who would be bent over the barrel, then?

Just about everyone in the world especially the poor. The consequences of these actions would be massive and unknowable

I'm just saying anyone who thinks China holds the superior negotiating position when they hold the IOU's is wrong. And even China agrees because they've been net sellers our debt for the last several years.

I don't remember seeing anyone saying China has the upper hand. Only that there would be repercussions for assassinating people within China's sovereign territory and that they would be unpredictable and very unpleasant.

What is the historical precedent for killing people that China also wants dead but can’t get it done?

do we know for certain that they want them dead?

We can be sure they have protectors high in government...who will be quiet about it when it happens.

yeah, I agree, it would look pretty bad on them to make a fuss about it. it's morally indefensible even if it's illegal to kill them in china.
