Lots of my scientist friends and I read a ton of non-fiction and are liberal. I was talking yesterday about a non-fiction book I finished and recommended to a liberal scientist.

So then you're -not- defending your hypothesis. So if people are routinely offering counterarguments that poke big, gaping holes in it, chances are it's a shit hypothesis that doesn't stand up to scrutiny. So either acknowledge that, or start providing actual defense.

I recommend to you a course in statistics (you'll learn about inferential statistics in probably the first week of Stats 101) and a lesson or two in appropriate debate strategies. Good day.
