I'm a white mom and utilize school choice for both of my children; I voted for DeSantis.

Mr. Desantis had almost 35% of the Jewish vote in Florida. President Trump had 27% in 2016. That difference (over 40k) was more than the final number of votes Desantis won by (about 30k)

This would be something. Florida governor-elect Ron DeSantis eyeing a Democratic state lawmaker from deep blue Broward County for a post in his administration. https://twitter.com/mahoneysthename/status/1064661156684546048 …

I think it was about taxes. Wrong state to talk about that.

Another theory is that a small percentage of African American women thought “DeSantis” was his first name and that he was the black candidate. That would be consistent with the ~95% black woman vote for Dems elsewhere.

They won't, for the most part, but the Democrat Party might, unfortunately, via their vote-by-mail ballots. All of these 'fairness' issues broadening how and when people can vote make fraud possible, and in close races that can make all the difference.

School choice is a winning issue with many minority voters. Lower income parents are tired of being locked into failing schools, with their complaints met with sophistry or shrugs. Loving parents will always seek out ways to better the lives of their kids. And these parents vote.
