I don’t recommend interpreting the nuke part of the tweet as anything but colorful hyperbole that got your attention. And I hate that I have to explain that to so many people.https://twitter.com/RepSwalwell/status/1063527635114852352 …

You apparently aren't getting the point. Every tyrant in history could claim to just be "enforcing their laws," yet we recognize that the action itself, whether being justified by the internal logic of an administration or not, is wrong. (1)

Threatening war if you're not allowed to rob people of their rights is not legitimate rhetoric - it's an declaration of lunacy. Any politician thinking sparking a civil war over confiscating weapons is a legitimate idea has driven off the edge of reason. (2)

Unless, of course, those laws are unconstitutional.

Lets get nine people together and whatever most of them think.....that’s what we’ll go with.

I agree. I actually greatly appreciate Scott’s level headed perspectives. I just felt he seemed to be defending swalwell’s comment by pointing out it was hyperbole. Maybe he wasn’t. The hyperbole did not make the actual point any less atrocious.
