Remind me which side the military would be on in this imaginary war?https://twitter.com/RepSwalwell/status/1063527635114852352 …

I find it ironic that the same man who says the people don't need guns to protect them from the government in one breath, says basically in the next the government has the bigger guns to protect them from the people.

It’s just too funny when politicians from liberal enclaves assume that soldiers drawn overwhelmingly from red states and counties would go to war against their own families and friends to enforce lib-progressive tyranny.

But does it matter? Thinking the military will turn on their own families for the likes of Eric Swalwell is a huge stretch. When I took the oath, it was to "support and defend the Constitution… against all enemies, foreign and domestic" The "domestic" enemy would be Swalwell.

if we spend money on military medics that treat the usa population during peace time then we've increased military spending (yay say repubs) and given free health care (yay say the dems) while having a poison pill that if we ever go to war they go too

Would the 'not meant literally' leniency be granted to a republican who made similar remarks?
