Easy to explain. The message and the messenger cannot be separated. Black people can use the n-word and I can't. People who are unambiguously non-racist can play around the edges of the topic in a way that those accused of being racist (even wrongly) cannot. That's basic.

The should here is a claim of 'hypocrisy.' Which does not persuade. But we 'should' all be looking for a race-switching mask or make-up performance that rings true, is funny, and alleviates our deepest fears!
