Many on the right reject the clear data showing rapid climate change in line with human production of Co2. You can't say, with a straight face, that most republicans believe or even attempt to understand that the climate is changing due to human factors! Including your president!
-
In 2018 I think most Republicans believe that humans add CO2 to the atmosphere and that more CO2 increases heat, all other things being equal. They disagree on the models and on whether other variables are also important. Models are not science.

Unless there has been some recent change lots of people on the “right” reject the IPCC’s main findings about the climate forcing aspects of adding CO2 to the atmosphere - see the “hockey stick,” etc. 1/2

There are so-called “lukewarmers” who generally agree with these findings but disagree with a lot of the policy prescriptions, etc. associated with them. I fall into that category and it’s clear to me that denial is the main strategy re: is the “right.”

If right wing, you'd put scare quotes around the word "science" when referring to sound science the right denies, and not for junk science the right accepts. If leftist, you put scare quotes around "science" for science the left denies, not for pseudoscience the left accepts.
