In my first job as a bank teller, I was robbed at gunpoint by a man I described in great detail to the FBI. I was 100% confident in my description. Bank security video showed an entirely different person robbing me. Not even close.

I don’t know if you’ve been sexually assaulted by someone you know well, but it’s something you don’t forget. It‘s seared into your memory, you don’t substitute someone else for that person. It’s nothing like being robbed by a stranger, and not remembering what they looked like.
