"I'm trying to understand how it is we're in Obama's economy, but we're in Trump's climate. "You really have to pick one or the other, don't you?" - @ScottAdamsSays on the @washingtonpost blaming @realDonaldTrump for #HurricanceFlorence

This isn’t difficult. All significant economic markers show a continuation of Obama’s recovery. Trump, however, has created a climate of massive new debt, increases income inequality, potential for environmental disaster, lost and mistrustful allies, and emboldened racism.

“Continuation” isn’t a thing. Economies move with today’s news. There’s been a lot of news.

Depends who you were listening to. Buffett said in 2016, it wouldn't matter who won - the American economy would continue to rumble on. I've seen nothing since to dethrone him as the best seer around...when he makes a prediction (he tends to wait till odds are heavily on-side)

Buffett was right on the big picture, as always. But the RATE of "rumbling on" is the important variable.

Sure, but bear in mind Trump threw on some gasoline with some tax cuts. But like Greenspan & Bernie with their low rates, it takes years to see the full effects. Arguably it led to 2008. Eg. we're already seeing the initial debt effect of it...adding to the QE effect.

Will it end in tears? Who knows. But we were seeing steady growth beforehand that could have been 'tweaked' for long-term steady growth, rather than 'turbo-ed' for cracker growth but with a heavy price to pay later. Anyway, just a view some of us have on the Trump boom 🙂

Are you talking about the Carrier jobs? If so, you could search 'Trump Carrier Jobs' to see the current state. And if that, I think Obama's point still holds - robots + offshore provide an ineluctable trend for job losses there, till at least the dollar falls way down
