Good context, but persuasion-wise, this is not a productive approach. It is received as "White people are assholes because people who look like them have been bad. Now give us some of your stuff." Also need to explain Asian-American financial success for full context.

Perhaps reframe it to: An entire country working together to resolve terrible rips in the social fabric created many generations ago by people who were doing the best they could knowing what they did, under difficult circumstances. United to make things work better for us all.

With the current mess that is liberal college campuses in the United States, I would recommend Scott reconsider his original idea. Perhaps re-direct it to STEM and/or VocTech rather than make another generation of unemployable liberal arts graduates with entitlement mentalities
