Out of context, those tweets are deeply inappropriate, shocking and horrible! In context, his act involves pretending to be the worst human being who ever lived, which implies he thinks pedos are in that class.

Fair enough. He’s a funny guy. There’s a groundswell brewing about him, we’ll see how far it goes. The question remains, does he get a pass because of his artistry or is he taking his persona too far when he jokes about pedophiles? IMO it’s never a laughing matter.

As a general rule, one can get away with more if your content is also funny. That's bad news for Gunn and better news for Jeselnik. Also, Jeselnik plays a "character" of a bad human being, which puts it in context.
