I use it as an example that words can matter in the real world more than correct thoughts. Your approach is to conform to the pattern of a racist (while not one) and get angry for being labelled one. My suggestion is to violate the pattern. One of those strategies is effective.

"Republicans against racism" is not the same as saying "I oppose racial hatred". The first one carries on te vague term and appears to throw other Republicans under the bus. Somewhat equivalent to "Democrats against Pedophiles"
