The 2 aren't mutually exclusive. You could have figured, I'll defend Trump and make easy money off Trump supporters, AND that plan hasn't worked out as you intended. But now that you have a book on Trump, it's in your best financial interest to defend him till the end.
Just like it's also possible for Trump to have wished to become president to make more money, AND to have failed at that endeavor due to his incompetence, and the resistance.
Which part is incorrect? That liberals defending Trump will get more exposure since they're rare? That Scott wrote a book on Trump's apparent brilliance to try to make money? That it's in his best interest to do whatever it takes to keep selling the idea that Trump's a genius?
