Can you please occasionally take a little time out of your day to smack down @ScottAdamsSays . He is insufferable.

I simply asked the public to provide a link describing trade with Canada in a way we citizens can judge as fair or unfair. No one passed the test. I'm sure Tom would like to see such a link too. Wouldn't you?

You could find people who are experts on these things and follow them on Twitter

So far, the experts I have seen just spew data without context. I could follow a thousand of them and learn nothing. I just want one clear article. Just one.

According to this article, Canada has a milk tariff and we have no tariffs on them. Therefore trade is unfair. That's the whole story? That's what Trump has been saying.

We trade more things than milk with Canada, FYI.

The test has been passed, Tom. The Washington Post article is the summary I was looking for. And it shows they have a milk tariff and we have no tariffs. (None of your links did that.) And as we all agree, trade balance isn't the metric that tells us what is fair.

Scott, you can declare “the test has been passed,” but it makes you look as silly as you did two hours ago, while you ignored people trying to reason with you. If this is how you think you’re saving face, have at it, but you’re just being a walking example of motivated reasoning.

I retracted that “passed test” comment when someone pointed out it was an incomplete article. So we still have the starting challenge.

As with many subjects, a summary of the trade issue is easy. The difficulty starts when the details arrive. IME, that's how it is with trade. If you want some of those details on dairy, you might try this... https://www.factcheck.org/2017/04/u-s-canada-dairy-dispute/#.WxxytL-eFqY.twitter …

So that's dairy, where Canada has very high tariffs. OK, now let's look at sugar, where things are ~the opposite – with the US having very high tariffs, way higher than Canada's...pic.twitter.com/ojstNQEZtg
