That's not the way logic works, Scott. You don't get to make a claim and then it stands until it's refuted. Show me an objective article that proves his claim, and that starting a trade war will fix the problem. https://twitter.com/ScottAdamsSays/status/1005922978863992833 …

Okay, we can do it your way. Critics claim we already have fair trade with Canada. Can you show me a clear article that makes their case? No one else can, it seems.

Do your own research, Scott. I am not your monkey. You want to be an intillectually lazy troll instead of actually offering insight into a complex subject. I get that. But I'm going to call you what you are.

I didn't start the thread with a hollow challenge, now, did I? You're literally arguing that a fallacy stands until it's defeated, and if i don't engage in that fallacy, I must concede it is true.

Thank you for the clear example of cognitive dissonance.

You're using "cognitive dissonance" wrong.

Do you have a source for the correct way to use cognitive dissonance?

Cognitive dissonance is having an inconsistent state of ideas or rhetoric. I have offered no such inconsistency. My argument is that person that originally raises an argument needs to support it--not just demand that it stands until it's refuted.

Scott's argument is that Trump made an argument that no one has refuted (which is not entirely true). I replied that Trump's argument must be proven for it to stand. Scott argued that then "my way" means I have to prove the opposite. But that's him repeating the same fallacy.

Incorrect. Lots of people have refuted the trade balance argument but so far only this article looks at the bigger picture including tariffs (and agrees with Trump that Canada has a milk tariff and we have none on them):https://wapo.st/2Jwz9Ly
