But dairy products are a very small proportion of trade between Canada and the US. So the impact would be minimal. In addition, the U.S. subsidises all kinds of Agricultural products.

Which is why what Trump said about total free trade, no tariffs and no subsidies is total bullshit, he doesn't have the pull to remove farm subsidies, that is done on a congressional level and farmers would be VERY upset if those subsidies were removed.
