President Trump has now claimed in public a thousand times that current trade deals are unfair to America. How many counter-arguments have you seen in the news? None? #TradeWar

If we have deficits w/ a poor nation, it's normal until point when poor nation can afford Boeings & Hollywood movies. W/ OECD rich nations (like Canada), the deficits r minor, US Econ won't benefit fr tariffs to "balance" them. Thus "natl defense" not "fairness" claims for steel

@WR3A, US does NOT have current account deficit with Canada. For every $40 surplus in export of Canadian goods, there is a $26 surplus to US in interest and dividends and $14 in services. If balloon is squeezed, one or other has to be impacted.

US does NOT have current account deficit with Canada. "Trade deal" includes operation of subsidiaries. US corporations and services operate more freely in Canada than anywhere and generate huge US surplus in services, interest & dividends. Canada pays by exporting commodities.
-
if Canada can't export commodities, US won't be able to obtain $26B surplus from Canada in interest and dividends to US and $13B surplus from Canada for services. It is a very large cross-border trade with complicated ecosystem, which is essentially in balance.

Didn't you say something like fairness is just a concept dumb people argue about, and there's no such thing as objective fairness?
