President Trump has now claimed in public a thousand times that current trade deals are unfair to America. How many counter-arguments have you seen in the news? None? #TradeWar

The Chinese don't want to buy goods from the US. They want to invest in US companies, which sell their goods worldwide (not just in China). So, trade deficit against one country does not matter. Overall trade deficit does not matter much in short term.

"No one disagrees with that". "What is the counter-argument?" "None?" Perhaps Trump and Scott don't agree with Free Trade theory, but pretending none of the rest of us do might just mean he's culling the herd of followers, cultivating Dittoheads.

No one on any team has passed the test of understanding trade "fairness" with Canada. I'm running an experiment to see how many people think they saw the Loch Ness Monster but didn't take a picture.

No, the selling can't "always be larger." We're not the only sellers of goods & manufactured goods (the deficit Trump complains about) already mostly gone to other countries. We've evolved into a new economic model & we can't force others to buy American. Many other choices

There might be some individual deals we can improve here and there, but that's always been the case because markets are fluid - but you've got to recognize comparative advantage and purchasing power. We're not "losing" on trade.
