Pundits are asking why President Trump is starting trade disputes when the economy is doing well. Answer: That’s the best time to do them. Lowest short term cost (pain) and substantial long term upside potential.

Right. And the best time to hit yourself in the head with a hammer is when you're feeling great. Lowest short term cost (pain) and substantial long term upside potential (when you stop doing it).

Good example of why I so often say analogies are not thinking. They just feel like it.

Interesting. Because I would define "not thinking" as rejecting the economic evidence amassed over centuries.

I also often say history doesn't repeat. We just think it does because of selective memory. There was no President Trump for those centuries. You might have noticed he changes all equations.

You made the mistake of unreservedly supporting a six bankruptcy man (notice he couldn't change THOSE equations!) with an 85 IQ. Now, you feel you have to rationalize every crazy thing he says and does. Not a good position to find yourself in.

I guess you're going to have to find out the hard way, as Ann Coulter did.

Another bad analogy. I see a pattern.

Rather, Scott has no idea of what he's saying. Once you've uncoupled empirical evidence (economic history) from economic theory, Economics is no longer a science. But you have to do that to support Trump.
