In addition to misleading whether this is news or not, they are wrong 99.999999999% of the time.
Because lying is wrong. They should have learned that in kindergarten.
Point is, it’s manipulating viewing masses all for one goal. Votes. And ratings.
I think you are conflating 2 things - the part of the show where they report & the part where they have a panel to do news analysis with “expert” opinion. ESPN does sports news. Then they analyze the news. All cable news does it & has been. It’s crap. But not new for Trump.
The part where they report "news" said the president called white supremacists "fine people," which didn't happen: https://bit.ly/2EpNBhO . I agree they usually get the facts right. But viewers absorb punditry as reality when the guests agree with each other, as they usually do.
If you want to criticize cable news, have at it. It’s really no different than an ESPN or WWE for that matter. I think it’s 90% garbage outside of a @jaketapper but just don’t act like the style of the analysis - psychoanalyzing politicians - is anything new. Par for course.
I could be wrong but if their “mind reading” was more charitable, maybe you wouldn’t be as opposed to it. Even LeBron misses almost half his shots and 1/3 of his games. ESPN reports those as well.
