Last night on his “town hall” @chesaboudin said that we couldn’t get drug dealers off our streets because we first had to ensure the safety of their families in Honduras. This is madness. Our city is overrun with dealers.

Thank you for the article. I read it and it was inspiring and I agree that systematic change needs to be a part of the conversation. The change there, though, could be done by changing something in our country we have control over. Protecting foreigners in home countries harder..

We expect change and results to come overnight, while we have no problem repeating political cycles for decades without actually changing anything. Changing a system as rigid as ours takes time. If we really want to repair root causes, we cannot apply bandaids for symptom relief
