AT&T’s New Cell Plans Eliminate Data Overage Fees: http://mjtsai.com/blog/2016/08/18/ats-new-cell-plans-eliminate-data-overage-fees/ … #mjtsaiblog
@mjtsai And AT&T's "overage protection" basically comes as a $5 increase, same price as VZW's "Safety Mode". Don't want or need it? Too bad.

@ScooterComputer Where do you see the $5? -
@mjtsai AT&T raised the price of the device connect $5, from $15 now $20 across the board. Lower plans (<10GB?) were $25, so lower there. -
@ScooterComputer Yeah, that’s a plus for us because of the smaller plan. (And one phone on contract, so that connect fee doesn’t change.) -
@mjtsai Here, 3 iPhones on $100 15GB plan: new 10GB: $95 old 15GB: $100 new 16GB: $105 I wonder how/if "Rollover" works on the new ones? - View other replies

@mjtsai Don't think $15/1GB tack-on contributes unused data to Rollover either. Prefer pre-bought "buckets" and "blocks" over this nonsense.

@mjtsai Also, the "overage" allowance is "128Kbps max". So, anything from 1bps to 128Kbps, or whatever, is cool I suppose. Ridiculous. - View other replies

@ScooterComputer It’s not much, but better than a sudden extra fee, perhaps. In practice, if you manage properly, you won’t see either. -
@mjtsai I've been on AT&T MVNOs, and the overage throttling is unusable. Well below 128Kbps. iOS Mail doesn't even check. (Net10, Cricket)

@ScooterComputer 2/2 If you're on the 16GB Plan (or bigger) it's free. Let me know if you have any questions. *KR -
@ScooterComputer 1/2 We saw your Tweet. Actually, Safety Mode is an optional feature of the new Verizon Plan. *KR
