NeRFs are showing up in so much AI research being published.
It's almost like an entire industry knows radiance fields are the future.

they are too computationally intensive though... and require tons of reference images & position/angle info. while demos are impressive, nerfs will likely never be used for realtime applications (anything that makes use of 3d perception) but prob very useful in offline processing

Then explain why Giant AI robot company used them to "see."
Translation: those are limitations of the NeRF tech that is on the market. Not on what is about to come.
And, anyway, Apple has a powerful AI inferencing engine inside the M1/M2 that it hasn't really explained yet.
