The future of audio is Silicon speakers.
Yesterday I was invited to hear the future of audio on a visit to xmems.com
This Silicon wafer has hundreds of speakers on it. Yesterday they showed me these used in headphones, augmented reality glasses and more.

Here is my friend Jeff Stevens listening to them. He was a recording engineer and is the hardest audiophile I know.
He and I were blown away.
The headphones have way better sound than the new Airpod Pros. More accurate and better spatial audio.

These are reference designs. Shows product designers at, say, Apple why they should buy these speaker drivers instead of their old ones.
Michael Ricci, Sr. Director electroacoustic engineer, showed us how they work. This machine is so small you can barely see it with your eye.

I recorded just this part of our tour of their Silicon Valley offices where we get a look at their desktop speakers. The company started in 2018 and already has dozens of patents.

I listened to a few tracks off of Amazon Music and they had me compare to a few traditional speakers. The difference was clear.
The Silicon based speakers were smoother. Voices clearer. I heard things on them that I donโt hear in my AirPods.

This was an engineering tour so we stayed away from price but I know from my dad, who built microelectronics, that Silicon Based products, like these, should be easier to build in scale.

They are now working with manufacturers to put these speakers into Augmented Reality glasses. Because these speakers are so small and use less power than other drivers they are perfect for including in the frames of glasses. Welcome to the future of audio.

Uses less power for better sound, too.
