  1. German researchers provide experimental evidence suggesting the direct involvement of various forms of truncated forms of -associated alpha synuclein in differential seeding activities; might be relevant for differential strain formation & fate

  2. Cholinesterase inhibitor, Rivastigmine, modifies the α-secretase pathway & potentially early . It "can modify the levels of several shedding proteins & directs APP processing toward the non-amyloidogenic pathway"

Interesting discussion with - "If companies want to license a new drug, will they submit the marketing authorisation application to the European Medicines Agency (EMA), which is around 600 million people, or submit it to the UK, which is 60 million people?"

Interesting - embryonic ablation of Mesencephalic astrocyte-derived neurotrophic factor (MANF) causes prolonged activation of the unfolded protein response, but does NOT cause the loss of midbrain dopamine neurons in mice.

In a crisis, we turn to real-time . mused: if we know secrecy/patent-driven science cannot deliver when it really matters, why do our innovation policies endorse it? Don't we want to speed up finding cures too?

Fascinating read in many diff. ways - recommended weekend reading! "[They say] we're opening everything because it's important that we advance things fast. Well, the flip side of this argument is that your normal behaviour is to put barriers to science" -

Interesting - a case study of an individual with who was transplanted (at age 49yrs) with fetal tissue reports the co-existence of Tau & α-synuclein pathology in the grafted cells at autopsy (at age 70yrs)... but only in the left-side graft?!?
