Oops! EU states are sitting on a huge mountain of secret debt. Contingent liabilities like govt guarantees, off-balance public-private partnerships, or public corporations debt may become actual govt liabilities if specific conditions prevail. https://www.welt.de/finanzen/article173037693/Buergschaften-So-hoch-sind-die-EU-Staaten-verschuldet.html?wtmc=socialmedia.twitter.shared.web … via @weltpic.twitter.com/5rADbrNQFt

You do realise this is just a survey right? Italy's bad debt has been scooped up by the ECB for months. This comes to an end in March. Do you think everything is rosy for Italy?

Does it mean that if Germany decides to make investments in the National Health Systems by doing extra-debt - since public health is managed by the Landen - the debt is not computed as Federal debt (EDP or Maastricht debt) and technically is done by the Landesbanken?

This might convince the German taxpayer that sharing the debt in EU is not so bad for her and can help in moving towards a political Union.
