    I am writing about user involvement/PPI - and what concerns me when i think of it - is that the problems seem to be getting bigger, although the skill and interest of service users in it continues to grow. There feels like a bit impasse and conflict.

    Opt-out not just research. Also merging databases - GPs, HES, SS - to streamline care. Most who did it were professionals. Likely didn't use public services. This seems to blur the two except 'care' is hardly the word. Oh and the Human Brain Project.

    An algorithm might pick up certain things eg high risk periods when crises have previously repeatedly occurred, but it won’t pick up the nuisances times eg an out the blue huge trauma trigger or a major unexpected life event. It may be a part of someone’s picture, but only part

    Also - Facial Analysis tech persistently misclassifies trans people. Meanwhile non-binary people continue to not exist (obvs). A brand new frontier for transphobia right there

    Just been linked to research into the history of psychiatric treatment of lesbian and bisexual women in England. Really devastating. Feels like a similar story re lack of attention to women's stories re religious conversion attempts too.
