This is true at all levels. Locally, the poor and working poor were just screwed over by the new, county commissioner backed, Newberg City Council, who took back ARPA $ given to expand affordable daycare. When the county is pulling strings, working people suffer.

The cops were yelling “give me your hands!” while they were holding Tyre’s arms behind his back and beating him because they didn’t realize the street camera was there. They were deliberately trying to make the audio on their bodycams seem like he was resisting.

I have spent 3 years deeply immersed in local organizing at the expense of my family & job, been sued by the county commissioner AND Carey Martell. Recieved death threats at my home and been subject to radicalized abuse from the other side. Toxicity from our own team is worse.
