I've published a paper on Peaked Mixtures for Circular data (w Irene Klugkist, Daan van Renswoude & ). Besides the useful saccade application, I was really happy to develop my own distribution, which was a bit of a dream throughout my PhD!

Many funders have understood that grant reviewing wastes time & money, given the low inter-rater reliability among reviewers for anything but the lowest ~30% of applications. Solution: lotteries. What is the support for lotteries, & are results accepted by the community? ⬇️

Odgovor korisnicima i sljedećem broju korisnika:

With 1000 to 10000 datapoints, they work well. If you have less, you should probably not be mining the data, as overfit will come fast (or just use linearSVM/Ridge and stop there). Controversial, but insight from 10yr career.

My gazeR paper with and Matt Winn was accepted at Behavioral Research Methods today! This has been a labor of love for me. To work on and maintain a R package that a few people find useful has been a rewarding experience!

: Cohen’s d is not robust. Algina et al (2005) provide a formula for a robust Cohen’s d based on 20% trimmed means. Easily compute d-robust using `bootES::bootES` in R. The authors suggest using a percentile bootstrap approach for CIs: install.packages("bootES")
